Are You a Separated or Divorced Birth Parent Experiencing Alienation From Your Child or Children?

We will be an online research study on the long-term effects of parental alienation on alienated parents. We are currently recruiting male and female research participants from diversified backgrounds. You must be  between 25 – 65 years of age and are separated or divorced. You must be a birth parent and have at least one child or adolescent from your previous marriage and be experiencing some or all of the manifestations of parental alienation. Other selection criteria is there also must be no court evidence that the alienated parent has engaged in any form of abuse. This does not include any false allegations of abuse.The selection criteria process began September 2011. Participants who meet the appropriate criteria will have an opportunity to engage in this online research study in the late winter of 2012.

Are you a mental health professional?

We are currently recruiting for a study on the subject of mental health professionals working with families of divorce. Please apply.

We will be conducting an online research study starting in March 2012. We are thumb31 Research Studiescurrently recruiting male and female mental health professionals from diversified backgrounds. Potential participants must have a minimum of 5 years professional experience working with adults, children and/or families in the private and/or public sector. Potential participants must have either a Master’s or a Doctorate degree in counseling, clinical psychology, forensic psychology, social work or a related area.

2) Then contact my research assistant at drkathleenreay@gmail.com and in the subject line of the email put “Research Study – Parent”  or “Research Study – Professional”. If you are a parent experiencing alienation- please write a brief description of your circumstances in the body of the email.

Due to the high volume of emails we receive weekly, you likely won’t hear back from us right away but be rest assured your email is important to us. Upon review and approval of the criteria, you will receive a confirmation email from us. Your name will be placed in our password protected database. If your email address changes for any reason please let us know.

Selected candidates will receive a link via email to participate in the
online study, which will take approximately 15 minutes to do. Once the research
studies are complete, Dr. Reay will be submitting them for publication to the American Journal of Family Therapy. Participants will be provided copies of the completed study, upon request.
